Why a moisture meter is worth having
A moisture meter measures the amount of water in your logs, so you can make sure they have less than 20% moisture content. Not only will you get a better flame with well-dried wood, it will also be easier to light and emit less particulate matter in an Ecodesign appliance — so we are all helping the environment.
Dry wood also reduces the build-up of sooty deposits in the flue, which could otherwise lead to a chimney fire.
