Who we are

Berkshire Fireplace Centre is a trading name of Hanningtons Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 06579900), with its registered office at 4 Reading Road, Pangbourne, Reading, Berkshire, RG8 7LY. We are the data controller for the personal information described here.

Questions about this policy or your information can be sent to info@berkshirefireplacecentre.co.uk.

What we collect

When you enquire or book a consultation, we may collect:

• your name, phone number, email address and postcode
• details of the fireplace, fire or stove you are interested in, and your chimney
• your preferred timescale, and any message or photos you choose to send
• your address, if we arrange a visit or an installation

How we use it

We use your information to:

• respond to your enquiry and arrange a consultation or survey
• prepare a quote and carry out any work you ask us to do
• issue certificates and meet our legal and warranty obligations
• keep the records we are required to keep for tax and accounting

We rely on taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, on performing that contract, and on our legal obligations. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for marketing unless you have agreed.

Who we share it with

Only where it is needed: for example, with manufacturers to register a warranty, with the relevant registration body when an installation is certified, and with the service providers who host our website and email. Each is required to protect your information.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not go ahead are deleted after a reasonable period. Customer and installation records are kept for as long as we need them for certification, warranty, tax and legal purposes.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or transfer it. To make a request, email info@berkshirefireplacecentre.co.uk. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Interactive map

Our Areas page automatically displays map tiles provided by the OpenStreetMap Foundation. Your browser connects directly to its map servers to load the images. These requests include your IP address, browser and device information, the referring website and the map tiles requested. The provider uses globally distributed servers, so requests may be processed outside the UK.

The map shows our service towns and does not request access to your device’s precise location. For how the provider processes map requests, please read the OpenStreetMap Foundation privacy policy. If you block external map images, the town links remain available.
